Hunting Aberdeen 2010

Diving Sodwana in 2010

Stuart, Tammy & Pat

Nic and Kevin went on their Aberdeen hunt this week — Nic

thought you might like to add these images to the website (he has

even written his own captions!).

Given that we had to pay for each buck, Nic was given a quota, so

sadly, not all you see is ours! Nic shot 7 in total of which we kept 4.

All at the butcher for prep — steaks and biltong mostly. Nic was just

in his element and could give you the low-down in hectic detail of

each shot — ! I didn't join them — had to work and I don't think I

have the "passion" they do, so my enthusiasm sometimes falls

short when they bound in with the news of all the gory details. I am,

however, extremely proud of Nic. His focus and determination to

get this right was admirable. Considering he has only been on

TWO major hunts, he did really well — and was very proud of

himself. Jason's turn to hunt is at the end of August with Kevin, so

we may have more to post after that?

They really bought into your idea of keeping it going with the news

when it comes in for the rest of the fam to keep in touch - however

distant.

Birthday Wishes 2011

Darling Peter,

Once again your Birthday has come around which reminds us of

how loving and nice you always were.

I love you and miss you forever.

Your Mum xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey Dad!

Gosh, another year flies by and even faster than the last. I think

our year zoomed by because we had so much to look forward to in

December. Kevin and I finally got our act together and took the

boys overseas! It was absolutely fabulous. One week London and

one week Austria to ski and snowboard. The boys had a blast.

They especially enjoyed the time spent with Carol and Mike and

catching up with their cousins. We had such a wonderful, warm,

belated Xmas lunch with the fam on the day we landed – Penny

and family; Cam and Rory; Carol and family (plus all the friends!).

Stunning! I have posted a few pics for everyone to see – there are

naturally many more, but still sifting...

The skiing trip was a huge success. The boys took to

snowboarding like ducks to water and within 2 days were flying

down the mountain faster than us! Really all such a wonderful

experience. The other fabulous news is that Shelly and the family

have finally made the move from Paarl to Wilderness. They are so

happy and are thriving. I hope you are enjoying all the visits! Our

'pebble pot' is growing nicely...

Well, have a special day tomorrow and we'll all be sharing special

thoughts for you.

Lotsa luv Les, Kevin, Jason and Nic xxxxx

Dear Pete,

So...we are another year older, wiser and more wrinkled....except

Bruce who is looking quite dapper - when his eyelids allow it.

Giggle.

Wish you were around to share things with.

Mum mourns you endlessly.

Her 90th was a huge event and saw family walking, riding, sailing,

driving and flying in to honour her. Penny's very special "Happy

Birthday" movie was the highlight of the occasion and brought

many a tear... Bruce and Leonora created an album

commemorating their special time with her and that helped make

her birthday one that seemed to go on for ever!

Family news making the headlines included a woman's double

world record for Penny - heading spearfishing 'Team Ascension'

with Cameron and Rory as her seconds. Penny's very notable

performance in the sea was supported by Jason who became a

prefect at SACS and Nic - not to be outdone, excelled at sport

where he encountered chick groupies for the first time! Another

good man down.

Little Tammy - 25 now! - took a look, closed her eyes and left an

aircraft at altitude. Tumbling downwards but attached to another

she became part of a new world - a well done smile from us all.

Phil and JK moved in entirely different circumstances: establishing

a new home of white alabaster in a cruel desert. Muscat in Oman.

It won't be long before the visitors start arriving!

Julia heads off into the blue on a Gap year with an itinerary bound

to be the envy of many while Matthew combines polo with

studying for his degree - here's to a great CV and a great year for

you both. Carol aka Swot is considering studying further and we

wait for details.

Stuart is busy with his degree at Stellenbosch and has added

another interest to his growing skillset - photography and at the

cutting edge too. Brittany had a great matric year and plans to join

her brother this year. She may study graphic design.

Lesley the consumate artist commutes between Cape Town and

Knysna - bringing great breaths of the life you loved - back into

circulation to refresh us all. We respect the hearts of those two

girls - Michelle & Lesley - for finding a way to remind us of the

great ship Aztec that still sails the Knysna lagoon.

And the greatest of them all - saved for last - your eldest sister:

Patsy, Kart, Patricia and Pat - and these names barely scratch the

surface. They represent Kingdoms almost - in the sense that they

embody differing groups of treasures - how can one person be so

blessed?

To you as always our daily thoughts and wishes and today

especially..

"Happy Birthday" to our son, Dad, granpa and brother.

We love you.
